Democratic Status
Justice: tiered. Healthcare: privatised. Education: distributed by postcode. Safety: proportional to income. The toilet: still equal. For now. This object is a monument to the last biological democracy. Keep it. They are already working on charging for it.

All ten seated. All ten flushed. The Fortune 500 CEO and the street vendor. The head of state and the cleaner of the state. The celebrity with 200 million followers and the man no one follows. The toilet received all of them with identical, democratic indifference. This is the last one. They are already working on a subscription model.

The Only Seat Of Power That Cannot Be Delegated.

It is called a throne colloquially and everyone laughs because the joke lands — because everyone privately knows that the toilet is the one seat of power that cannot be delegated. The CEO cannot send someone else. The president cannot appoint a deputy. The celebrity cannot have their assistant handle it.

"For this one function, every human being on earth is entirely on their own. No wealth transfers this responsibility. No status exempts you from it."

No technology has yet found a way to outsource the most fundamental demand the body makes of the person living inside it. The blue throne is the only democratic institution left. Everything else — justice, healthcare, education, safety — has been tiered, privatized, and distributed according to wealth.

But the toilet still comes for everyone equally. For now. This is a monument to that. Cast in blue because blue is the colour of water, which is the colour of equality, which is the colour of the last thing they haven't yet managed to make exclusive.
